I actually just watched a four part documentary on Australia called The Making of Modern Australia (check, search for Australia) about a month ago and was pretty fascinated by their said: 'ДЄs much as I love Mad Max and Fallout, I don't want to see their boundaries cross any further than has already been done. That said, I would welcome a Fallout game set anywhere, and Australia would certainly be cool. Bethesda can stick to their Eastern seaboard story arc and Obisidian can continue to fill in their long heritage out in the West.

But I don't think Fallout the brand is big enough for that now. Fallout Japan the SRPG, Fallout Russia the weird adventure game, Fallout Greenland where Greenland is some new utopia and vikings and shit are fighting over it.

If Halo Reach came out after Halo 1 people would have been pissed, the brand has to grow enough first. Once a brand gets big enough, you're suddenly allowed to make it other genres of game. Because if it wasn't being done by locals who actually know their shit, its just a whole game of mutant crocs, a talking kangaroo, a character based on croc hunter and 'that's not a knife' jokes. I think Beth should just expand the IP to the point where they've got an Australian dev building on the foundation laid and making a Fallout set in Australia. I get that people who live wherever the hell they live would want a Fallout to take place there.
